Re: Silver Strike Program
Nice post Dano....I also collect SS and lurk on these boards. I find them interesting (the posts, that is) and have learned alot about the hobby from the people here. I would play the SS machines whenever I was in LV (once or twice a year) just for the excitement of winning something other than money which I would promptly spend. A few years ago I was going to return my collection to the various casinos for face value when I decided to get a SS "pricing" guide. I was hooked on the hobby after I found I had two strikes "worth" $1000 (McCarran BJ spades). My buddy also had a Riveria CA Comedy Club strike. To think I would have recieved $10 for these strikes! Now I collect those strikes that interest me since collecting all of them gets pricey. I for one, am glad there is a secondary market like EBay and Jackpot since getting to LV is only a 2 times a year proposition right now and the only way of getting some of the older srikes (other than trading). For those of you trying to keep the hobby going, I congratulate you on your efforts (i.e Davo) and the time you spend on it. Every group needs some risk takers with ideas. It's also fun when people like Norm run a contest (Idol). Finally, thanks to all those in the club who take the time to work on the newsletter, hold office, and set up the conventions....your efforts are appreciated and not recognized enough. That's it, get the fork for me.....Dave Serebin (WI)
