While it is true Casinos prefer no-name vs. Branded Slots (as they don't have to pay a cut to the owner of the Trademark - think Wheel of Fortune), this is a different scenario. Here, I believe the slot managers couldn't spare the time/effort to run/maintain these machines without a central authority (IGT or some other company such as NewCo). I am in the Investment Banking/Private Equity Field and have handled a number of transactions such as this. The artwork suggestions etc. are all things which could be voluntary submissions of designs much as the same central themes which many casinos used at the same time over the yrs.
If someone can get me:
A) The IGT Source of the info.
B) The Status of the Decision
C) Any other Facts
I would be willing to contact IGT re such a discussion (assuming there are other Strikers who could help put up Capital; I would only do a 10% or so share -- and assuming there are Strikers w/ managerial experience in the sector...or execs within the business who would come along with the assets).
As IGT is a public company, this is all just hypothetical -- and no serious discussions should take part in public. Any serious disccusions would have to be undertaken in private. Any Strikers w/ the capital to put up and the background info. can feel free to contact me at David@WilliamsCap.com
