This is rather long so please bear with me. My brother in law has a niece that resides in Vegas.
She and a girl friend were going to Reno for a tournament last week and had time to kill at McCarran waiting for the flight. He had mentioned silver strikes to her and she played one of the machines while there to kill time. A hopper fill occured while she played so a slot attendant showed up to fill the machine. They began chatting snd the attendant told here there were going to be special strikes along with the new common issue of five. The theme would be the top five wanted international terrorists. The would be in color capsules intermingled with the regular strikes. They would not have a cash value but a reward multiplier if your information led to an arrest. Instead of Limited edition $10 gaming token on the rim it would be inscribed Reedeem for 2X current reward money with your information or something similar.
The multipliers would be different with the Bin Lauden strike having the highest multiplier. In addition to this the attendant told her there would be a bigger strike that could be swapped at the cage for 10 of the terrorist strikes. I presume this would be a one pound Bin Lauden. Guessing on my part. The logo side would state Help McCarran Airport fight terrorism with a toll free number. Since there is no cash value for these Gaming approval may not be required and they could pull a surprise issue if this was the plan. If anyone else has heard anything it may be advisable to post the info so everyone has a chance to get one or more. The attendant said they would be limited to a few hundred or less with random seeding of the machines. It sounds like there will not be a hard and fast rule of one per rack so it could get tough.
