Vegas striking trip

Just got back from a 4 day Vegas trip. This was my first trip since starting to collect strikes, so needless to say, striking took up a good portion of my time and budget. With the exception of Sam's Town, I hit every casino in Vegas with operating strike machines. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience and money invested to strikes returned ratio. Despite what I have seen others post here, my BEST experience was at the Wynn. I only played for about 20 minutes while my wife went to buy show tickets. In those 20 min, I hit random 777 twice and hit 4 $10 strikes (all duplicates, but oh, well). $100 in...$150 and 4 strikes out. Not bad

Also had really good fortune at Mandalay Bay. 4 $40 strikes for $100 input. Found a gentleman at the $10 machine who was trying to accumulate for a $200. He was kind of bummed when informed that no place in Vegas currently has $200 and was willing to trade for some of my accumulated dups from other hotels. Also paid less than face for Gold Spike, Golden Nugget, Palms and Fremont $40. Tightest machines were by far the New York New York.

Some unpleasant times I had included the California and Slots of Fun. Both casinos have a mixture of strikes in one machine and a different mixture in their 2nd machine. California's 2nd machine would not accept bills or tickets. A slot attendant could not fix it immediately and asked me to come back later. 2 hours later, still not fixed. Slots 2nd machine was completely empty and the 2 attendants I spoke with didn't really seem to want to be bothered to even get me a time when they might be filled. Fremont's $10 machine was dark for the duration of my stay. Treasure Island currently only has 1 strike filling both of their machines. Kind of dissapointing for one of the major strip casinos. Add to that that the one strike they do have is just a resturaunt add just made me want to get out of there as quickly as possible. No red caps or limited editions or $200's to be seen anywhere in the entire city. Not much incentive to play for more than just what was showing in the machines, IMO.

All in all, though, a really great time. I'mm looking foward to doing it all again at convention time and getting to meet some of the people here on the site. Till then, may your striking adventures be profitable
