The mono rail will give you a tour of the back alleys, dumpsters and airconditioning units. If you just want to go casino hopping from the MGM to the Hilton it is ok as you can get off and on easy enough. If you rent a car just stay off the main strip and use the back roads as Patrick says. Most of the casino parking garages can be accessed from the back and traffic is a lot less.
