Great report. I went to the Wynn to play for some new ones and as soon as I saw the machine I figured I wouldnt be there long. It is the same machine as the original one at the El Cortez machine from 3 years ago. The strikes come very slowly if at all since there are so many ways to win credits. On rare occasion I go zero for $100. On the machine like the one at the Wynn I know of 4 strikers that have gone 1 $10 for $250 to $350.
I have played for 15 $40s at the Fremont and average over $70. I now some people have hit it at just the right time and done fine. This is more likely a case of poor luck on my part.
The Mandalay Bay has the 3 line machine which pays OK in the long run ,but, is very volatile. For that reason I dont care much for the 3 line machines even though they usually pay the same in the long run. At the 3 line machine at Southcoast we won 25 strikes for $145 which didnt include the $125 jackpot. Continued and won only 3 $10s for the next $150.
On your trip I think you picked the 3 most up and down strike machines in all of Las Vegas. For the most part I think the strike machines are still about the same as they have been.
