Some very "good" information Archie! Here is some added info that sometimes "confuses" the issue. Many of the direct dial-up ISP's use the "same" dialing port which is the number you see next to Archie's address (67.82.16.76). Because direct dial-up ports are easily and quickly net ready they are used almost exclusively by the "junk" e-mail senders. Some of the log-on ISP's like AOL, Net Zero, etc. filter out or block out a lot of "legitimate" e-mails sent through these dialing ports. Sometimes you will have an e-mail that is undeliverable when sent through these direct dial up ports when transacting an e-bay sale or purchase especially if you have prices quoted in the e-mail. If any of you strikers have this problem occur try sending the e-mail with different wording or at a little later time and it usually goes through ok. I know, it all gets a little "confusing" but is still some good info to know about! So you can see that with direct dialing ports you could get nasty e-mails from a lot of different computers and ISP's and all come from the same dialing port.(67.82.16.76) as an example. Hope this thread has been "enlightning". Enjoy the hobby..................Dick Maheu in New Mexico
