Here's yet another story of how Casino Regina will always be a 3rd rate casino. They finally sent out invitations to their 1st ever Invitational (and first ever period) slot tournament. Guaranteed prize money is $20,000 across the top 20 winners with only 240 invited guests. Entry fee $50, pretty standard right? Well, of the 240 they invited, so few responded, (they are holding it on a Monday and Tuesday during office hours) that the Invitational gave way to Hey Everybody , wanna play in our slot tournament? When they still couldn't get enough, they threw in a free breakfast for anyone who entered (it costs $1.69 otherwise). Still not enough response, so they upped the offer, free parking( you have to pay for parking at the casino) Apparently, invited high roller guests were expected to dish out the extra $10 a day for 2 days parking while they competed in a tournament where prizes 10 -20 are only your entry fee back( hmm $50 entry plus $20 parking - prize of $50 Wow I just lost $20 and I am one of the Winners!). So now, with the tournament set to start tomorrow at 9:30 AM, they finally had to courier out all the entrants information yesterday as they could not get enough people and enough info together to get it organized sooner. Prize money has been cut back according to # of people entering, but you still get your guaranteed 2 -15 minute sessions of play PLUS your $1.69 breakfast, and thanks to a friend complaining, your free parking. Sad story isn't it?? And they call themselves the forerunners of gambling on the Prairies. Gives you an idea why I drive the 4 hours to get across the border to do my serious gambling. That along with the fact they will NOT post a payout level for any of their machines. Sorry, just my rambling.
