Another weapon was discharge nearby? Are they SERIOUS? Geesh, criminals will do anything to lie their way out of a jam. Let's see, the gun in the guys hand right in front of you goes off, you are hit, but no, you aren't sure, it could have been a weapon discharged nearby??? How can the police even believe that? Now he's created doubt, so a conviction on attempted murder would be impossible....sounds like you're going to have to go to a civil trial on this one....
OCEANSIDE ---- A man was wounded Thursday in an apparent shooting at an Oceanside mobile-home park and another was arrested in connection with the incident, authorities said.
The incident was reported at about 11:30 a.m. on the 200 block of Bluesprings Lane, Sgt. Leonard Mata said.
"The suspect and the victim know each other and got into some type of argument" that led to one man receiving head injuries, Mata said.
The victim, who is in his 40s, was taken by helicopter to Scripps La Jolla Hospital and released, the sergeant said.
At about 1 p.m., the alleged shooter, a 38-year-old man, went to the Oceanside Police Department and said he was involved in the shooting, Mata said. However, after interviewing the man, police said, it was no longer clear what caused the victim's head wound.
The injury may have been a grazing wound, but another person discharged a weapon nearby, so it could not be determined Thursday night how the man was hurt.
The alleged shooter, whose name was not released, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and making terrorist threats, Mata said.
