Man wounded in Oceanside shooting

OCEANSIDE - A shooting at a North County left a man wounded today, authorities reported.

The assault occurred in the 200 block of Bluesprings Lane in Oceanside about 11:30 a.m., according to police.

The victim's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Sgt. Leonard Mata said. Officers searched for the assailant into the afternoon, the sergeant said.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the shooting.

The victim's name was not immediately Released.
