Hey All;
I have been offered a presentation set of a $100 and $25 dollar coin from the Luxor. It was part of the New Years gift package they received in 1993. Each coin is in a separate plastic disk for protection and then seated in a blue velvet box side by side. Could you tell what they are worth? Are they worth at least face? Here is a description
They are from the Luxor. On the front of the $100.00 gaming token you have stamped on the edge the wording ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR GAMING TOKEN (in caps) then there are 3 small markings then the word LUXOR (in caps) then the same 3 small markings. The outside edge is a lighter gold then the center part. The center is a bright gold color and around its edge is various hieroglyphics that alternate from from embossed to raised imprint. Then in the very center is the head of King Tut. On the back it is the same except for the image of King Tut you have the Luxor logo and stamped under it is Las Vegas, Nevada on one line and then centered under it 1993.The $25.00 token is the same except for the following variations. On the outer edge it says TWENTY FIVE DOLLAR GAMING TOKEN &(ampersand is my way of showing the small marking) GOOD ONLY AT THE LUXOR HOTEL &(ampersand indicates small marking) the color is a little duller silver. The center has the same hieroglyphics as on the gold coin.The center is a more polished silver and is the head of Nefertiti. They measure 1 3/4 inches side to side and top to bottom.
Any Ideas of value?
Thanks;
Jim Moser
