Dan, it is really a super fine line as you know. When a casino does not come out with new designs the machines don't get much play. The casino folks wonder why not much play. Then again. A few years ago a casino, the Palms came out with a new series of strikes (6)every month which included also a $200 and some collectors did not like that because it was to much. The demand is not just us collectors but tourists. Their constant play is really important in all the math going on here. Price of silver is also important. Follow the track of the old U.S. silver dollar. Once it's silver content became worth more than a dollar it was the casino's that quit having them in their dollar machines. The switch to the slot tokens was on. Now it is cheaper for the casino to have paper receipts than the slot tokens. What is next, credit card in, credit card out is my guess.
Happy New Year to all........
