Since I ask the coin shops for strikes, and they don't have them often, the guy yesterday was showing me some, and weighed them.
I said, they aren't all silver... only the center is silver.
Which send me hunting for the actual weight. Seems I do that a couple times a year.
Is the .6 oz an average or pretty close to right on?
Silver prices are at a 6 mo. low right now, 13.79 roughly. When I calculated the silver value of a strike it was $8.28c
Are we going to see the day when melting these, will be worth more to a metal trader, than selling them to us for $10?
Also found a Foxwoods 1994 LM slightly larger than a strike and since it's not from a strike machine? Can anyone help me with a value on it. Silver content looks to be about 1 1/2 oz. Logo on one side, old shipyard on the other.
Anyway. Does anyone have a link or does anyone have the precise silver weight of the center of a strike?
