Personally hate to see anyone getting "stiffed" but I wouldn't bet the farm on getting any help from eBay. At the bottom of every page of listings for strikes, eBay has the following disclaimer:

"These items are not verified by eBay:

caveat emptor"
Or, in simple english, "let the buyer beware".
