Richard-Took a look this a.m. at the auction you listed and while I agree, the seller's verbage would indicate it is indeed for the rare "chaser" election strike, NOWHERE in his description does the seller state the designs on each side of the strike reflect the symbols of the two major parties. He simply states that it is "rare" and limited to 125 pieces, which we know is not the mint amounts for the more common election strikes. Perhaps more interesting to me is the fact that the seller included two scans of the strike being auctioned and both show the same thing. That old saying, "a picture's worth a thousand words" sounds like it is ringing true once again. I would have most definitely emailed for clarification prior to exercising a "buy it now" option to gain further understanding, specially given the price of the item. I suspect you are going to have a difficult time rectifying this issue, if in fact the seller does have the strike in question to begin with. You are correct though, alot of money for a pretty common strike,good luck......
