On my last trip to Reno I was lucky enough to meet a gentleman who about 10 years ago purchased a large number of Strikes at the local swap meet. He had over 500, mainly from the Reno area and NONE, I mean none, were for sale. Begging my case he allowed me to visit his home and go thru all of the Harrah's Club srikes with the Genie & Lamp to see if I could find, close up and personal what the heck the difference is between a full moon and part moon as listed in one of the reference books. The strike is the Genie and Lamp, GDC mint with .999 inner issued in 1994. I went thru 206 issues that he had of this particular strike. The picture below " I HOPE" finally shows the difference. The strike on the left is the FULL moon, The stike on the Right has the partial moon. On the Part moon version, the rim of the moon on the right side is virtually non-existent. Going thru 206 strikes, I found 203 with the full moon and only 3 with the part moon. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone if they have a different idea or conclusion.. Thanks
