Marv; While the Foxwoods $200 strikes have not been in play for quite some time now.... and are NOT involved in the current discussion regarding SSOTY 2001 ... I understand that originally, these tokens were hand-paid when someone lined up the 3 Sevens?
Furthermore, I also understand that these $200 one-pounders are currently available from coin dealers for around $90. These are the dated Walking Liberty design silver strikes that were struck by Osborne Mint. I'm told that the only difference between those that are currently selling for under $100 from dealer ads in Numismatic News and the strikes that were awarded in hand-paid jackpots are the serial numbers.
Evidently Foxwoods strikes had serial numbers from such & such a range of numbers ... and all the rest of the serially numbered "strikes" were bullion pieces that are being sold now by coin dealers .... including some without serial numbers. In addition, there was a parchment type paper authentication that accompanied the Foxwood's pounders in the presentation box ... but that on occassion they were redeemed at the casino cage for $200 without the paper documentation.
Is this a factual understanding of what you know about the Foxwoods one-pound strikes?
