I understand your position for not voting SSOTY, however, I don't believe that participation is based on a unique knowledge or understanding of Silver Strikes. I believe that the SSOTY contest is like a beauty pagent, i.e., what looks good to me.

Assuming you do vote COTY, are there any different attributes you assign to chips (to judge them) than you would to a Silver Strike, or even a token (TOTY candidates) for that matter? For me, I would judge all three based on what appealed to me, based primarily on look.

I see no real reason why you should disqualify yourself from SSOTY voting.
