I've always had my concerns regarding the 1999 Token of the Year award winner.

Apparently, this token was not issued as a gaming token not played into a machine, not won out of a machine and not playable on the casino tables.

In the strictest term this is a medal (medallion) and not a Gaming Token.

What made this medallion (medal) eligible for Token of the Year?
