Displaying a large quantity of silver strikes or casino chips in full view of possible unsavory characters, "outside of the cary-on", could make one vulnerable to assault and robbery once leaving the relative safety of the airport

Usually, when TSA inspectors want to view what is inside my carry-on, I request a private screening when carrying anything of substantial value... which I do not place in check-in baggage.
