Not long after I returned from the O'Shea's Silver Strike tournament in December, I managed to get my blood pressure up to a resounding 230/160 and couldn't get it down. My HMO (whom I work for) decided it was time for a break from work and sent me off to a retreat in the mountains near Santa Cruz, CA.

I spent almost two month there trying to relax and work not only on the Blood Pressure but my Blood Sugar levels as well. When released from the retreat, We had my BP down to an average of 145/80 and the sugar levels well under 200. I returned to work on March 4th. Since that time the BP is starting to elevate somewhat and the blood sugars are remaining fairly stable. However, recently I had another stay in the hospital due to a foot problem and some unfounded cardiac symptoms.

Needless to say the guide is on HOLD as I am still working with a retreat group here in my area every weekend trying to keep the BP down with exercise and relaxation exercises. (Did I forget to mention a 10 lb weight loss due to the retreat? First ever for me under the 200 Lb. mark!!!) If I can just keep with the program.

Unfortunately, for me I forgot to turn in my Vacation request on time for the convention due to being away from work and I still haven't been told if I will get anytime off during the week of the convention. I was told it was essentially filled. But I might get several days off that week and I should know either today or tomorrow for sure.

Since going back to work my BP is up a little averaging 165/92 while at work... at home 150/84 while doing things and while resting about 145/78. So I plan on making major commitments to my health for the next few months and the guide will be on hold but I still plan on giving the database as much time as I can to keep it up to date. I've asked my brother to assist me to look into furnishing the database and price guide information online (FREE).
