Dennis, one thing we have to try to avoid is a situation where the seller can list a mystery auction giving little or no information and suggesting the contents could be worth a lot of money , then after the auction the seller can adjust the contents of auction according to how much was bid.
Such as, say I have a box full of 50 plus strikes and I don't let the bidders have any idea of how many strikes I have and the auction only brings $100 then I could remove 40 or more and the buyer would never know.
How many sellers do you know that would put up a mystery auction with 50 silver strikes and giving the bidders no idea that there were this many being auctioned and then the high bid ending at around $70. Sending the winner all 50 strikes would be difficult.
