I agree with Walt--"collect what you want to collect and enjoy the collection"--BUT there is still a very real need to define what should and what should not be considered for the SSOTY award.
Personally, my husband and I do NOT beleive the "prizes" given for the tournaments nor the "prizes" given for hand pay jackpots should count. SSOTY awards should be confined to those tokens "won" from the machines, either by playing quarters or by trading in 20 for the big one.
We have NOT considered any of these "prizes" as Silver Strike tokens ever since they were first announced. BUT just because we do not does not mean anyone else has to believe the same.
To avoid the "Silver Strike" token misconception my "silver strike" check list has ALWAYS had the title--"O'Neals check list of Nevada Silver Strike Gaming Premium Tokens"
