Have to add my 2 cents worth: Just got off the phone with Marv and he says that the term "strike" was used way before Anchor came along; when a coin is made, they "strike" a coin, so a "silver strike" is any coin that is made of silver. Silver strike collectors use the term in reference to a .999 fine silver coin that is either won from a special slot machine or is given as a prize as a result of slot machine play; for example, in some casinos, a $200 silver strike is given in exchange for 20 $10 silver strikes won from the slot machine. (Exceptions are the $200 Sierra Sid's and Eldorado silver strikes that were sold in their gift shops, and the silver strikes that are given out at strike tournaments; but they are all called silver strikes.) Marv prefers to use the term, "silver premium tokens" as it distinguishes the silver strikes from the silver gaming tokens won from other slot machines or from silver commemorative coins sold in gift shops.
