Can someone please explain to me why someone would post an Item for sale on an auction site with the bidders "ID Kept Private." I have only ever bid on one auction where the bidders ID was kept private and I would never do it again! I for one would like to know who the people are that are bidding against me. To me there shouldn't be any reasons why this is done, but one reason I feel is to get the price up on an item without you knowing who the person is bidding against you to drive the price up higher. Ebay claims that if you place a direct bid your ID will be posted but if you place a proxy bid, the ID of the bidder is kept private. Correct me if I am wrong, but I cannot find any reasoning for this. I for one don't care who is bidding against me, but I sure would like to make sure that the one bidding against me is actually a person who needs that Item and not just driving up the price! Only my 2 Cents.
