This is an update I received from Bill on the injuries that Ann sustained in the auto accident:

Ann continues to get better but it is just small very steps each day. Last Saturday she had her second surgery, she was in surgery about 6 hours to repair her pelvis. They went in on both the front side and the back side installing plates on both front and back sides of the pelvis. The next morning they started re-habilitation consisting of sitting up in bed and moving to a wheel chair (with a LOT of help). She does that twice a day and has worked up to an hour stay in the wheel chair. They are also working on getting her to stand with the aid of a walker plus her right leg but she has not been able to do that yet. She has a lot of pain but they are able to keep it in check most of the time with meds. She developed a clot in her left leg last Monday but they have that in check with meds plus when they did the first surgery to repair the ruptured bladder they installed filters to help prevent clots from reaching places where they could do damage.

Today, 21 Jun, they moved her from Sharp Memorial to Sharp Cabrillo, also here in San Diego, which is a re-habilitation facility. They will continue to do what they have been doing plus add more, the doctor says it will be three months before she can put her full weight on her left leg.

The kids and I are with her some part of everyday with one or more of us working with her in her re-habilitation. We’re making this a family project and we’re ALL going to get through it. She has had a lot of cards, calls and visits and wishes to thank everyone who is thinking of her and keeping her in their prayers.
