Every strike I obtain goes into a new airtite with the foam ring, which does get expensive after a while, except for the colored cap strikes which stay in the capsules from which thay came. I know from the comments on this board that some replace into a clear cap no matter how they came, but I see these more as a trophy to be displayed. A kinda reward for either patience at the machine or paying a higher price for a limited edition strike. Having the ability to color a clear cap is the next best thing if replacements are unobtainable. I have older blue caps that are scratched and broken from changing hands over the years and would like to put them in a clean airtite. I wont make it to the convention, but maybe someone can raise this issue to a rep from IGT. Maybe not the ability to purchase new caps, which sounds like they are reluctant to do, but rather inact a policy to exchange broken or scratched caps for a new ones.
