Well I got back from Vegas this past Sunday - and what a trip! I went to the Plaza to see what they had and both machines were working (unlike my last visit in September) and so I began to try my luck - got a Vegas Vic right off the bat. Initially all I wanted was a set of the strikes they had available but after hitting my fifth St. Louis Arch I decided to try for the $200 - My mistake was believing they had $200 strikes available! Each machine had the little sign on the left hand side stating that you could trade in 20 strikes for the $200 - but I never checked with the cage! Well I ended up getting the strikes I wanted and the 20 extra ones (almost blew my budget in this one night). So I go up to the cage to get my $200 strike. Well the cage tries to pay me out with cash - I told her I wanted the $200 coin and she told me we do not have those. I explained that there is a sign on each machine stating otherwise. So the cage called the slot supervisor - 2 people show up Alex and Dawn were their names. Alex talked to me and Dawn talked to my wife. Alex told me there was nothing he could do they did not have the coins - I asked him why they still have the sign on the machines - he said he did not know but would look into it. Well the conversation between my wife and Dawn was more heated - evidently Dawn told my "too bad we don't have the coins" - So I interjected with how can you havea sign up stating that you have these coins when you do not - while I am saying this Alex is now at the machine on his cellphone and taking the signs off the machines. I then asked "doesn't this violate some sort of gaming commision laws or rules?" I get no answer! Now Dawn and my wife are yelling at each other (probably not the best move on the casino floor) and then 6 security guards show up with a casino manager and we are asked to leave the casino - I again ask about the violation of gaming laws becasue of the signs on the machines and the casino manager asks what signs am I talking about - The signs were taken down my Alex when this started! I told him check the "eye in the sky" and was told to leave now or they were calling Metro for trespassing! So we start to leave and this casino manager tells the security guards to take us out the back - I then yelled as loud as I could (again probably not the best move) "I came in the front - you robbed me and now you want me to leave out some back door - no way I am leaving out the front" and that is what I did.
So I have at least learned to ask at the cage if they do in fact have the strikes that are being advertised on the casino floor. The rest of the trip was enjoyable but I will never ever go back into the Plaza - no matter what strikes or promotions they offer. Just my 2 cents to the community.
