Barbara, first off, welcome aboard this very addicting and fun hobby. In 1996 Nevada Gaming made the mints change the location of the .999 from the rim to the silver planchet insert. The best example is on the Silver Legacy 1st Anniverary. As on this strike it was made first with the .999 on the rim and also with the .999 on the silver which would have been a re-order later that year after the change was put in force. It was a good change because alot of people thought because the .999 was on the rim the whole strike was silver and the rim was just plated with brass or gold.
