Hi All, Here are the results I obtained from my experiment with a silver strike left in E-Z-Est for 24 hours. What a mess!!! And that is an understatement! A heavy sulphur residue covered the entire brass ring and was a real chore to get off. I had to actually "scour" it off. The ring did turn a yellowish color but very different from the Venetian strike in the scan. The Venetian strike shows no damage whatsoever but my experimental strike definitly shows the signs of "scouring". It is entirely possible that someone may have put this Venetian strike in E-Z-Est or some other cleaning agent for a shorter period of time than I did although I personally believe this is not the case because of the many differences between the two strikes! Time will tell if other strikes like this "surface". In the meantime it will occupy a place in my collection at least as on "oddity". I will scan the experimental strike in with the Venetian and Caesar's Pewter strikes for you all to see the comparison and post it here on the board..........Dick Maheu in New Mexico
