Walt-
Maybe I mis-worded my question. Will the DESIREABILITY of the blue caps go up to collectors and future buyers who dont have them? I realize silver is silver, but its what the red and blue (and yellow) caps represent: a limited edition strike. The 4 strike discriptions I read most on this board are red cap, blue cap, common and error, so the colored caps do have a purpose; to designate special strikes. Why do the casinos do this? So we sit at the machine, play longer and chase them or come back every hour to see if they are closer to the bottom. And if what Wes said is right about the casino in Reno, it wouldnt be long before word gets out to collectors and it wouldnt work. I got lucky on Thursday at Four Queens. I went in, put $60 in the machine and won 2 commons and 3 red caps. But if I walked in there and didnt see the caps on the bottom of the stack, I leave and go somewhere else because I have the queen set already.
And I do the same as you with the airtite cases. All my strikes and in the cases with the foam ring, mounted on the velvet holding cards in numbered plastic boxes with separator slots.
Sorry to ramble on so long (again),
