Kirk,
Reserve Price Fee
You could end up paying a lot moe than $4.80 for a reserve price. You get the reserve fee back if it sells.
Reserve Fees (fully refunded if item sells): Hide
$0.01 – $49.99 $1.00
$50.00 – $199.99 $2.00
$200.00 and up 1% of Reserve Price (up to $50)
The only thing the reserve gives you is a little insurance that it won't sell for less. It might give you a feel on how much the market will hold up if you were sitting on a ton of them and wanted to know how many more you could put out and not flood the market.
I never use reserves. If I don't think it will sell for what I have to get for it, I don't list it. I like to list strikes for .99 and save the .15 listing fee and get a few bidders thinking about wanting it. You can always save it for a free listing day and put it out then for what I need to get for it.
