The Third Annual Silver Strike Slot Tournament is this week end. John Miller and I will be the only board members there but we will also have Leta Hansen our newsletter editor, Jo Reifer our Hall of Fame and Elections Chair, and Jim Moser our webmaster. Our weekend will give us all plenty of opportunities to discuss the new $200's and other concerns any members may have. Please feel free to bring us your ideas and concerns.
We have a short survey that we will be passing out at the tournament for those who so chose to express their opinions on a few questions that have been mentioned lately. This survey will be posted on our web site as soon as Jim Moser gets back from the tournament and those who were unable to attend will have an opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns.
My personal feelings are that Actions Speak Louder Than Words. Both the new $200's were put up for a presale and not all sold. Looking at jackpotauctions.com and ebay.com they don't seem to be selling at a great rate and I am sure both casinos have plenty of their $200's left in their cage.
If everyone remembers there were quite a few of the $200 collectors who gave up collecting the $200 before IGT eliminated the program. I wonder if there are even 100 club members who still collect the $200's?
You have to remember that the $200 is a gaming token and it is under the control of the NGC. I would think the same rules that apply to the $10 Silver Strike also apply to the $200. A commemorative coin does not have all the restrictions of a Silver Strike.
All of our newsletters are posted on the club web site, please take some time to look over issues 37 and 38 again as all the information that was shared by IGT to the board members and club members can be found in these issues.
Looking forward to getting to Vegas, seeing everyone and playing for strikes, oh yes and winning the Tournament!
