Re: insurance claim's from the post office

Skip; I agree with your thoughts of rip offs at the post office. I sent my daughter in Fl. jewerly for her birthday, and insured it. It cost me $550 wholesale with a retail at $1250, but I only insured it at $500. It never made it so after the week I went to the post office they said come back after a month so I did they gave me papers to fill, but not till 45 days have past. Then starter the games I must show proof which I did, them must have proof of its value which I then got, then they wanted a photo which I didn't have. So three months after the filling I received a letter telling me my claim was declined because they felt that I hadn't shipped the jewely because I didn't take out enough insurance to cover the retail loss of the $1250 value. End of matter! Nothing. Zippo! So now when I ship to her it is only confermation, and it always get there. I think when they see it is insured for a high value that tell them to steal it as fast as they can.
