Re: Ebay's stated policy on picture theft

If someone uses your picture(s) WITHOUT your permission, Its image theft and violates not only eBay's rules but several law ordinances written not only for the US but for other countries as well. Must of these also INCLUDE a monetary damage amount for the person whose work was stolen or infringed upon.
If I'm selling a Harrah's common on ebay and someone emails & wants to use my picture because they dont have a scanner or camera, feel free to do so BUT I'll also stipulate that you must put that information as well as the old auction number in the description somewhere. I.e., The picture shown is not the Strike I have but the same one being auctioned. With permission, I borrowed the image from the seller of auction # -------.

It's intersting that in some of the ebay categories, if you are selling, you actually dont need your OWN picture or description. Records and CD's for instance. You can use the stock pictures that eBay provides in the category listing and they also provide the song tracks. Heaven help you if you have a rare misprint or mis-tracked album and use the stock picture/description ebay provides. I'm sure the lucky high bidder would see the mistake and return it...hmmm?
