Dan, I wasn't really meaning for those to be suggestions. I was just pointing out what could happen (and actually did happen). But I can see your concern about IGT picking up on such comments as ideas, though it's hard for me to believe that they haven't thought through or wouldn't be able to think about all sorts of variations on their own.
Like you, I believe that there is a long way to go before the strike manufacturing cost approaches the price to the casino (and especially the average cost for the player to win). If IGT started to skimp on the strike composition because of small variations in silver prices, I think they would upset a lot of collectors. And given that any decline in gross margin would be noise on noise on their financials, that would be a really stupid thing for them to do.
