Have you tried the local relief and government agency's. Like the Red Cross, etc. Also, I might suggest that you contact some of the local churches. In my observation after the recent hurricane here. Some of the churches, that wasn't hit as bad. Got together and helped people out. I bet you could find 1 or more that would like to help the old man out.
You might talk to the dumpster people. They might be willing to donate a dumpster or 2. For this cause and the good will it will bring to their business.
