It's NO Big mystery why prices are down in ALMOST ALL collectible markets. 3 to 4 years ago the money was basically funny and people had tons of disposable cash. I wasn't a striker then BUT I can with most certainty relate the prices to my other hobby of collecting antique lures. In that hobby, ALL of us major collectors who had been doing it for 10 years knew darn well certain lures that were all of a sudden costing 4 to 500 were not worth that much with reqard to rarity. It If you had them for sale, it was like shooting fish in a barrel. Lures that should have been $100 were often selling for over $300. Ridiculous!!! WHY, because of the short term demand. Newer collectors and more collectors had money to spend and were not afraid to pull the trigger. NOW, with money and the economy being quit a bit mor tight, I get more than 5 calls a week from collectors that want to sell lures they bought at the TOP of the market. Guess what? They are taking it in the shorts if they s want to sell. NO ONE can give them what they paid back then. The lures were not worth that much then and they are worth less than half now. It is a great buying opportunity as I think the market conveys more their "true worth" now. A lure that should have been worth $50 and sold for $200 is now worth 50 again most of the time. Strikes cant be that much different. Those that were worth $12 are probably still worth $12. Its the ones that were a little more scarce that probably got inflated and, if you bought one then and see the price now you might feel a little disgusted. Is this true?
