As editor of the newsletter for the first two years that we were a club I would like to say this: there has been so much negative discussion about the newsletter, mailing, email, difficulty, etc., that no one is going to take this on until someone starts talking about what a great thing it is. That it can be fun and that it is an essential part of being a club member.

I was told that since I did not want to get this via email that I was part of the generation gap and I ought to step into the 21st century. It certainly did not inspire me to want to particiapte again, however, I do receive some newsletters via email and they sit in a folder, rarely opened as I spend too much time at my computer as it is, and they are hard to read. Printing our newsletter would cost me extra money that is part of the dues I already pay to receive the newsletter by mail not to mention that some of us older guys have older printers that lack some sophistication.

Lastly, I would say, that when I do receive my newsletter in the mail, it is a fun day. I put it aside and find the time to make a cup of coffee and sit down and have a good read, from front cover to back cover and enjoy the "President's Remarks. " Christies's article and everything else. It is part of what makes this club special. Call me old fashioned, out of step, not part of the "now" generation, but I am probably within the age group that signifies the average age of our club and we did not grow up with computers as an appendage. I love the newsletter and I like getting it sent to my home address in the format in which it was designed. Also, the last issue was excellent with some nice new additions which is how things work. Each year we get a bit better, but it does not mean we have to change everything.
