Sorry if someone has posted this before, yet I just received the fourth of the CC&GTCC token.
I've noticed a few differences, which follow:
1) Four Queen's, Palms & El Cortez all have a "dot" separating the day from the year - the original design called for a "comma" which IS on the Plaza token
2) The font used in the original design was Bookman Old Style - which was used on the Four Queen's, Palms & El Cortez. However, the Plaza uses a different one - I haven't determined which one yet...
3) Plaza Token uses Stars between the casino name and the text "Limited Edition Ten Dollar Gaming Token", where as the original design as well as Four Queen's, Palms & El Cortez all use the large "dots" as a separator.
4) The logo design at first glance appears to be a late strike - yet upon closer examination (overlaying the center designs in Photoshop), the logo on the Plaza Design is Larger, and had many different details than that used by Four Queen's, Palms & El Cortez.
5) Plaza Token has scratched on the die extending from the letters to the rim in "LIMITED", G"AMING" and "TOKEN" as well as in other areas (between 6 o'clock and 9 o'clock)
Question I have, is since the design is different, does this tend to indicate that there are two different varieties from at least one casino? Or is there really only one from each casino???
If there are two from ANY of the four issuing casinos, I'd REALLY like to get an example of what I don't have (since I was the designer I'd like to have all variations!!!)... Please let me know if you find any - or better yet, send me a scan!!!
Regards,
Dick
