If you have a car and want to have some fun, take the "long way" 341, from Reno to Lake Tahoe and go through Virginia City, there's a nice mountain road, winding and scenic. Continue on to Carson City from the East.

Virginia City is quaint and plan on walking around awhile looking at the sights.

Coming back from Tahoe you can take 431 straight into Reno again, catch it in Carson City, Head North.

Sierra Sids was more of a truck stop than a casino, but the casino portion was fun and very friendly. Worth the ride and striker friendly.
