This M. Monroe from the MGM sure looks like the Rough was buffed off to make it a Smooth Lion. If you blow up the lion it looks to me like it is still a little rough around the mint mark. Also look on the clubs web site at the rough and smooth lions. The font around the lion is the same as the rough and not the smooth. It does not add up to me. Then again maybe it is another variety and I am all wet. I think it is a buyer beware anyhow. This was pointed out to me by another collector and he thought I might want to let everyone know what we thought. And, no I do not plan on placing a bid at the end when the auction closes. You look closely and you decide.
