Linda and I spent some "quality time" with the builder today. Progress has been made and more is scheduled. More importantly, there is a new estimate for occupancy. For the last four visits, it had been "a month." But today, we got the revised estimate: "30 days." Delivered with a straight face. Can we schedule another convention activity - helping Linda and Dennis move in? (Just kidding, got to try to keep a sense of humor about this.)
We put the down payment December 3, 2003. The first estimate for occupancy was May, 2004. Excuses include the following: needed new permits, needed new approval for archictural plans, needed new agreements with the utilities, material shortages, building department overworked, building department being investigated for criminal violations, rain and more rain, worker shortage based on Steve Wynn paying more, Steve Wynn offering longer employment, Nevada Power easements, Nevada Power backlog and of course, the old standby - those unreliable subcontractors, which has made several appearances.
