I had the same experience over three different trips. Over a three month timespan they had almost all of the newest series in blue caps, with a few of the old series (such as Gilley's) in plain caps thrown in. I was told this was the end of the strikes they had, but was never given an explanation of why the blue caps. Perhaps they were the first to try this as a marketing ploy to get rid of their old strikes. After the Frontier did it the Reno Hilton, Sid's and the Reno/Tahoe airport followed. I agree it probably takes the uniqueness out of the colored caps, but you are probably not going to stop the casino's it gets rid of their old strikes. My question is whether they are all talking to each other or whether IGT is promoting this as a way for the casino's to get rid of their old inventory??
