Kathy...I have very good success cleaning strikes and having them remain in good condition. I use a coin cleaner, mostly, but the secret is the finishing cloth. Use only a jewelers cloth, not an old cotton T-shirt. The jewelers cloth, about $5, is designed for delicate metals and really leaves a beautiful finish, which I think resists further tarnishing...Peter
