Hello Jackpot Users,

Norman asked me to write a post on the board to give everyone a better understanding of what has taken place over this past week. What we are currently working on is, First, we have upgraded our sites back-end database to MySQL 4.0.23. In order to convert all the data, we had to design about 15 custom scripts to automate some of the work, but the rest of it had to be done manually, which is an incredible task when you consider that when you change something in the item data (like adding a "bold title" feature, or "auto re-submit"), we need to change it on all the data, which at any given time is nearly 7,000 items.

Second, in order to make our site more efficient, all of the 235 unique scripts (consisting of well over 50,000 lines of code) have been rewritten to improve the speed at which our users can access the site. It also uses less server load and bandwidth, which lessens our down time. Unfortunately with that many lines of code, there will inevitably be a few bugs that are found by our users, that we may have overlooked during the coding process. We are currently working on finding and correcting these bugs in the system, and we welcome any suggestions that will help improve our users overall experience.
