Walt; If the mint in Denver didn't make the errors as you think then how come they know which town in Arz. that they sent them to? The six or eight towns were all small not large I didn't take notes so I only remember small towns.
And to know how many they made is easy to know just buy timeing the machine they put the die in. Just think if the machine makes 30,000 coins an hour it would only take six minutes to make 3000 of stright leaf, and seven minutes to make the bent leaf. So you can see that someone at the mint was changing the dies in a short amount of time. And if you have seen the coin it's not something the just happened.
It was either in late Aug. or Nov. that I first heard of it, but not till this month that I had seen them. They were selling set's of them at the Vegas coin show March 5-6. for $700-900 for the set of three or the hole set of four.
