I got this from a fellow poker player who did not have a firm grasp of the English language. She could not explain to me how she acquired this token from Nevada Palace. I must apologize for the scan, but obviously, refelctive metal does not do well under the light of a scanner.
The overall color of the token is gold tone, and the remainder is silver tone. The State of Nevada is silver tone, and on the other side, the inner circle is silver tone, except for the lettering, the red and blue elements of the flag.
This token is not silver or gold, as there is no making to indicate such! The outer edge is reeded, all the way around, and is silver tone.
The mint mark appears to be: TM. The spot where Las Vegas is on the state outline is a green colored rhinestone. It is struck with serial number 0666, or if you prefer, 9,990.
In case the scan is completely terrible on your monitor, the token seems to celebrate the New Year (it has the January 1, 2002 date). It is also marked VIP Commemorative, and it also seems to pay tribute to the 9/11 disaster by displaying the US flag and "God Bless America".
Does anyone know how these were obtained? How many were made? Etc., etc., etc.....
Thanks, Jim Follis
