If you look at the backside of the ss, you can see at the bottem of the SOF sign, that "sail" shape is there, on the left bottem of the sign, on that backside, along with the word blackjack...so they stamped this backside too hard, and that little piece, as well as the letters, somehow carried over when stamping the front river side of the ss....so that little piece is exactly the shape which looks like a sailboat...at least that's what we see could have happened here......check that backside and see for yourself.....
