You have to understand, Kirk had a Silver Strike Collection but was really a speculator, found out he couldn't keep control of the market the way he thought it ought to be and got out by selling his collection. He had the Hunt Brothers theory on how to control a market, they didn't have enough money and neither does Kirk. Us collectors who didn't pay some of the prices he wanted of course are now cheap.
